Personally I use both operating systems, depending on
which will do the best job for the task at hand. Each
platform has its benefits and disadvantages. If you are
a Windows user, you will likely prefer using a
Windows PC laptop for your DJ work. On the other
hand, if you are a Mac user, you will insist that the
Mac is the better platform.
The platform and OS that you prefer to use really
is
the best choice for you. Use what you are comfortable
with and you will do a better job. Both PC and Mac
offer a variety of software for the DJ, and either
choice will be perfectly suited for music and Karaoke
playback.
Karaoke Display
If you are going to host Karaoke, you need to make
sure your laptop computer can connect to an external
monitor or television to display the lyrics to your
guests. Some computers have an
S-Video
output,
making this simple.
Many newer computers no longer come with an S-
Video output, which used to make it easy to connect a
