So You Want To Be A DJ.
Also consider whether or not the software comes
strictly as a download, or as a hard-copy on CD-ROM
or DVD, and with a printed manual. Sometimes it's
good to have a hard copy in the event you need to
repair the installation where no Internet access is
available.
However, downloadable versions are updated much
more frequently, fixing bugs and imperfections.
Practice Makes Perfect
Once you choose a program that you like, practice
with it. You should know its features inside and out.
You do not want to be stuck trying to figure
something out while you are at a gig.
Make sure to test the most important features, such as
how it handles a second sound card for previewing
over headphones, and multiple-monitor support for
Karaoke or Video playback.
Once you've done some practice DJing at home, you'll
be much more comfortable when you are actually
performing.
