So You Want To Be A DJ.
I had mentioned before about gradually lowering the
music volume and style, but another trick that works
quite well is to use the Juke Box. As your last planned
song is coming to an end, go throw a dollar in the
Juke Box and cue up a couple of songs. Once your
song ends, hit Play on the Juke Box and most people
will not notice the transition at all.
Now you have a good 10 minutes to pack up and load
your equipment before anyone has a chance to talk
you into staying over. I use this trick almost every
time now, and the bar owners love it because it
promotes use of the Juke Box after I've shut down,
making the bar more money.
