Yes, our conversation about this made me realize it's a story that should be shared. I chose the "Brief History" title as an homage to Stephen Hawking, with his ground-breaking book "A Brief History of Time"

Not that VDJ is anywhere as groundbreaking as discovering black holes or furthering Einstein's research...
The Studio/Mixer layout will always remain. I have toyed with changing it in the past, and it just wasn't VDJ -- I didn't recognize it. Some hate it, others love it, and those who love it will continue to be loyal (I seem to have a pretty good long-term loyalty percentage among long-time customers). No need to change it and look "just like the others".
From a distance, I can't tell the difference between Sorato, VirtualDJ, Virtual Turntables, and many other DJ programs (two turntables, two player "decks", etc)...but you can spot Virtual DJ Studio from across the room
