Another thought ... ppl for some reason can't figure out when clicking search.. they start to immediately type.. instead of clicking the white bar to type in first..
I know it can be programmed in to auto put cursor in...

Also I like the idea of seeing whats playing .. I usually let the background playlist constantly run.. using crossfade in between karaoke singers till they arive..
The app shows what is playing from that list.. an option to show karaoke song or dj music would be nice.. I know you might be changing the way things are set up .. but just a thought.

A few things that I thought of for the 7. vers...

A) A button to send a song back to the request list..
For instance Joe puts in 4 songs and I am running 2 songs per rotation.. He asks to switch songs... now he has 3 songs in rotation... cannot send back to request once in Karaoke Queue...

B) Songs come in with first on the bottom... I am used to it now.. but having the option that new songs go below ....

When you "reply" to their message (or request), their app page pops up an alert box (a messagebox on the PC) with your (hopefully short) message and immediately deletes it from the server.

This way no matter what page they are on, as long as they're within the app, they'll get that message. Otherwise they'll get it the next time they log on with the same browser (same cookie). Note that if their phone is asleep (screen off) it'll just pop up when they go back to the browser. It will not make any sounds or actual phone alerts. It's just a javascript alert message.

Seems to work really well and avoids clicking on a "messages" page and all of that extra nonsense :)

I haven't replied lately .. been working on our sandwich shop... This is awesome....^^^

I like the tip jar idea.. Also the idea of the .. which I use alot for brides etc...

One issue I had this past weekend was now that we have added so many songs.. I have 18 versions of Patsy Cline Crazy.. everyone picks the top one...or just types patsy cline and the first crazy they see is what is chosen.. I know I ask if it was possible to not display the id tags which then Cline, Patsy - Crazy would just be listed.. and default to Sound Choice version... Or even we had the option to change versions on the Host side.
How about displaying them with the option of Z to A instead of A - Z....
I need to find the time to go through the music and just delete all the versions I don't want ppl to sing... 5 versions of SC- I love this bar ... lol

On another note everything looked good except the option of them choosing karaoke/dj/etc... I like the idea the way it is now.. where we display what we want. I can see that being an issue on both karaoke nights and DJ nights...

Requests for Feedback / Re: Web App and Customers
« on: December 29, 2016, 09:26:14 AM »

So each customer will in turn create a customer profile. They can do this with or without a specific DJ in mind - eg, they can set up their profile and use that to search out nearby DJs, etc. The customer account will be email-authenticated, possibly with some type of CAPTCHA to weed out bots. So now the customer can upload up to (say) six profile pictures, and at any time choose which one to use currently.

I have issues with ppl not willing to try even using their phones.. or a kiosk.. (no data, battery low, shitty service.. etc...  Can't you just do it for me) I don't see how they will wan't to go through a whole sign up session..
Also I have quite a few guests visiting from out of town that just wan't to sing two songs and never see again.

Here is where it gets tricky. As a DJ, you would need to "approve" any new customers. This will be done simply by looking at their profile and confirming that it is one of your customers. You can then either approve each of their profile pics as "appropriate", or mark that customer as "trusted", meaning their pics can be updated without DJ approval (only if you trust you won't suddenly get a d**k pic on your karaoke screen!)

So each customer would have a list of their favorite DJs, so they can quickly select the DJ, or even find out where he or she is currently playing or will be playing next. Obviously I have high hopes of having a DJ base large enough that a customer will have several choices in their area :)

So basically I guess my question is this:

- Do you think the "create customer profile" with email authentication bit is too much? Or are people used to doing that enough these days that they wouldn't even think twice?

- Should "anonymous" requests be allowed? In other words, the DJ can open it up for non-registered people to send in requests? Personally I'm thinking of leaving that part out entirely.

Is there going to be a browser Incorporated in the tabs for us to do this without having to open a new program. Or some type of alert system that will make approving easy... I personally think it is overthinking it. KISS theory.

When I am DJ'ing a wedding and post requests can be submitted at nobody will want to fill out a huge form or email authenticate to request a song, they will just come tell me.
I like the idea of having unique screen names and password protecting, and even having profiles, but there has to be a bypass way for the lazy people.

*On a side note ... Having a tab set for a browser to go to a lyrics site would be so beneficial. I would love to add lyrics to the metadata for each zip... but this would be an alternative for now.  I might reference google for lyrics 2-3 times a night ....

Glad to hear all is well..
(sings) all I wan't for Christmas is my VDJ8 ...

As of the first week of January I will not be doing regular Karaoke gigs.. my kids are going to take over. I still will be doing Weddings and private events.. Taking care of the backside of the DJ business, bookings music etc...
We are going to open a hot dog cart and catering company.. possibly a sandwich shop as well... All by March I hope.

I went through heart surgery myself, so I have a bit of experience with the recovery as well... Take it easy.. Don't get stressed .... Enjoy the holidays.

I DJ a lot and soon will only be doing DJ work after the new year as Karaoke is just too much for me lately.

I usually run with extra whatever I can carry... If I have room for extra system I bring it.. Which is frequent as I have a big panel van. Though usually it is a small system.
We always contract with deposit at signing and final payment no later than 30 days before.
General events are 4-6 hours. Rate varies from $149 -$279 per hour. Depending on what I am doing.... But I always give them a flat hourly rate. If I am Dj'ing a wedding from 7-12 I usually give them cocktail and dinner music for free...

I have had an event where we had issues with cables and bad mixers... If I am close to home I don't worry so much of the mixer.. but a mixer amp.. (Head) I would have some backup..
I don't use a lot of laptops for that reason.. If a sound card goes out. I can change or add a USB instantly which I do carry for backups in our toolbox.
My wife calls me the just-in-case DJ .. I always bring way too much that we never use....

Now have you done many Quinceañera .. I have one next month.. I haven't done one in about 7 years.. any tips..

Currently I am using a program called KJ file manager.. to eliminate duplicates that I believe to be un-usable versions. .. For instance I ended up purchasing the SGB ( Sweet Georgia Brown ) library for like $120.. I have found like 5 songs that are better than other versions..
I only need 1 version of Patsy Cline Crazy from SC.. Not 6.. LOL
Slow and tedious.. Though I do like the option to play tracks to dbl check them right from the program....

There has to be another ... simpler way...

This would be a great idea.. Could read from sd card.. file on computer.. and sync with music.. I don't think as elaborate as Power Point but .. if we already have the choice of static images as backgrounds and soon live video...
Transition images would be great.. especially for as you said .. funerals, weddings etc...

One of the key features I miss of my old karaoke program was the option to select a different version for a song... I am curious if this is something we could do..
With our online books we had the option not use the disk id's .. it was default SC, MM, CB,DK, what ever else was available.. etc...
If you did use disk id's and someone picked CB for Friends in low places with a click of the mouse you could change that to SC.

The books as they are now.. everyone has a habit of picking the top placed song. I am in the process of eliminating those horrible versions but what a long process....
