So You Want To Be A DJ.

be different, and within each crowd you will find
different music styles, so you have to try to please
everyone at the same time, which isn't always easy.
The fact that you picked up this book is an indication
that you already have what it takes to get started. You
have a passion for music, and hopefully you can learn
to judge the crowd and meet all of their expectations,
if not all at once...
There are some technical aspects to being a DJ. You
will have to know how to connect audio equipment,
run a laptop computer, handle a microphone and
more; however, once you get the hang of it, you'll find
that the technical aspects of DJing start to come
naturally. Once your equipment is set up, the rest is
about personality, music selection, and general
customer service.
Being a DJ can be quite rewarding. In my personal
experience, I have made a lot of new friends, gained
the respect of many community leaders, and made
quite a bit of extra money by doing something I enjoy.
There is no bigger reward than repeat business from
the same customer or their friends or family – the
ultimate validation that you have done a great job.
When guests ask for your business card, you know
