referred to
phonograph
records, while

referred to

Compact Disc
, which has become the more
common spelling.
Today, the term DJ includes all forms of music
playback, no matter the medium. This book focuses
mainly on the
Digital DJ
, or a DJ using a Laptop
Computer or other digital form of music delivery such
as an iPod, iPhone, or other MP3 player. The Laptop
Computer is by far the most common form of music
delivery for DJs these days, and that will be the
primary focus of this book.
