Always remember to consider the size of the room at
the music shop. If it is significantly smaller than the
type of room you expect to be working, always take
that into account. The larger the room, the more
wattage will be needed; so even if it sounds fantastic
and plenty loud enough at the shop, it may not sound
as great when set up in a 300 person hall for a
wedding party.
If you don't trust your own ears, you should be able to
find a friend who knows about audio systems,
someone you trust to judge the sound quality of the
speakers. While most of your clientele will likely not
notice the difference, there will be those who truly
appreciate the effort you put into the sound quality of
your sound system.
Once again, never forget that your speaker system
should last many years, so you shouldn't take your
choices lightly, as they will define your sound for
years to come.
One question I am often asked is: how many Watts do
I need. This question is difficult to answer, for several
reasons. First, every company rates their equipment
differently. The key to determining the
