So You Want To Be A DJ.
any situation where you would like a speaker quite a
bit further away from your DJ table. You connect a
small radio transmitter from the mixer, and the
speaker receives the signal.
Some examples where a wireless powered speaker is
extremely handy include:
A bar or club that has different rooms or areas.
This can avoid
dead zones
where the music
can't be heard.
A venue with both indoor and outdoor seating,
such as a patio or deck. If an outdoor outlet is
available, you can allow the outdoor patrons to
hear the music.
An outdoor gig where an electrical outlet is
available at the other end of the venue. This
allows you to keep the volume lower while
covering more area with sound.
Wireless speakers tend to have a range of between
150 and 300 feet, depending on the surroundings
(walls, etc) and any interference. Make sure they are
in the UHF band, as they will tend to have less
interference and an overall better sound quality.
Since most wireless speakers can also be used as a
wired speaker, you may find it useful as simply an
extra powered speaker during gigs where the wireless
feature is not needed.
