Where you place the monitor will also define where
the singer chooses to stand and sing. You can
manipulate this to achieve ideal singer placement with
respect to the speakers.
External Hard Disk
I always recommend using an external hard disk drive
to store your music. Such a device usually connects to
your computer via a USB interface, and this ensures
that, even if your computer breaks down, you can use
a backup laptop and still have access to your music
collection. Remember however that an external Disk
Drive will also require an additional electrical outlet.
It is also a good idea to have a backup copy of your
music collection. If something were to happen to your
hard drive at a gig, you can rest assured that you have
another copy safely stored at home. You may spend
years and thousands of dollars securing your music
collection; a simple $100 backup hard drive can help
insure your investment. This is yet another thing you
will regret not doing only when it's too late...
Having a backup laptop computer, especially when
doing a high-paying job like a wedding, is highly
recommended. You don't want your computer to crash
and halt the entire gig, possibly ruining someone's big
day. It is also a good idea to have a CD player, iPod,
or other MP3 player handy in case you do run into
